Senior Solutions Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: Chicago, Illinois; Michigan; Wisconsin

Salary: $200,000–$275,000 USD annual OTE, including base salary and incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to complex enterprise customers throughout the technical sales cycle.
• Lead discovery sessions to identify customer challenges involving risk, cost, operational efficiency, and complex environments.
• Translate technical capabilities into business value for CISOs, security leaders, identity engineers, architects, PAM administrators, and application owners.
• Position Okta’s integrations, scalable architecture, regulatory compliance, and platform coverage against competing solutions.
• Help customers discover unmanaged AI agents, assess associated risks, and establish centralized control over human and non-human identities.
• Drive technical evaluations and enterprise deals to closure while building consultative customer relationships.

Requirements

• Recent customer-facing pre-sales experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Consultant, or Pre-Sales Engineer.
• Proven quota attainment and experience securing technical wins with large, complex enterprise accounts.
• Strong executive communication, presentation, storytelling, and value-based selling skills.
• Broad identity security expertise, including identity governance, privileged access management, threat protection, and modern authentication.
• Knowledge of SAML, OIDC, SSF, and Zero Trust Architecture.
• Ability to work in Chicago, Illinois, Michigan, or Wisconsin.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience positioning Identity Governance and Administration, Privileged Access Management, and identity security automation.
• Experience with AI tools, AI agents, LLM integrations, and non-human identity security.
