TL;DR
Sterile Processing Technician II (Sterile Processing): Decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, sterilizing, storing, distributing, and tracking instruments and equipment across Longwood Medical and Chestnut Hill with an accent on infection control, endoscope reprocessing, and sterilization quality assurance. Focus on monitoring mechanical, chemical, and biological sterilization processes, maintaining traceability, managing supplies, and supporting operations across campuses.

Location: 100% onsite in Boston, Massachusetts, across Longwood Medical and Chestnut Hill. Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at Longwood; Tuesday and Friday at Chestnut Hill, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Salary: $56,900–$62,600 per year.

What you will do

  • Collect contaminated instruments and equipment from clinics and perform decontamination and cleaning.
  • Assemble, inspect, label, wrap, sterilize, store, distribute, and track instruments and procedure kits.
  • Reprocess flexible endoscopes and accessories using approved infection control procedures.
  • Monitor mechanical, chemical, and biological sterilization processes and maintain quality-control logs and traceability records.
  • Manage sterile stock, inventory, supply ordering, expiration dates, repairs, and replacement instrumentation.
  • Provide operational support between the Longwood and Chestnut Hill campuses, including linen delivery and lab coat ordering support.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of sterile processing experience.
  • CRCST certification through HSPA or CBSPD required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to operate computers, automatic washers, sterilizers, and related tracking systems.
  • Ability to work onsite at both assigned Boston-area campuses according to the stated schedule.

Nice to have

  • CER certification through HSPA or CFER certification through CBSPD.
