Location: San Diego, California, United States; work includes clean-room and laboratory environments, extended hours, second-shift support, and occasional business travel.

Salary: $171,200–$235,400 annual base salary

What you will do

• Define and drive the long-term Tin Management architecture and technology roadmap for future EUV light sources.
• Identify architectural challenges, technology gaps, development priorities, trade-offs, and critical learning requirements.
• Shape experiments and learning plans for research test rigs to answer key architectural questions.
• Define modeling, simulation, AI, and data capabilities for Tin Management decisions and guide their development.
• Align research, systems engineering, product development, and external stakeholders around future source architectures.
• Provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on with experimentation, modeling, technology development, and problem solving for approximately 50% of the role.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in complex physical systems and one or more areas including thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, plasma physics, lasers, or photonics.
• Strong experience with experimentation, modeling, simulation, data analytics, AI/ML, and digital engineering tools.
• Experience developing multi-year technology roadmaps and aligning technical maturity, cost, integration readiness, and business strategy.
• Ability to influence technical direction across organizational boundaries and communicate clearly to technical and executive audiences.
• Legal authorization to access controlled technology under United States export regulations is required before starting work.
