Head of Strategy and Business Operations (Fintech)

What you will do

• Design and run the company operating model, including goal cycles, executive meeting architecture, business reviews, and decision governance.
• Own annual and multi-year strategic planning, prioritisation, resource allocation, market sizing, and build-versus-buy analysis.
• Lead the portfolio of company-wide initiatives from prioritisation through delivery, resolving challenges and embedding completed work into business-as-usual operations.
• Develop KPI frameworks and produce monthly CEO packs and quarterly Board packs from a trusted source of truth.
• Build analytical models directly in partnership with Data & Analytics and apply AI and automation to reporting, planning, and internal workflows.
• Lead, develop, and grow a team of five while securing outcomes across Product, Technology, Platform Operations, Marketing, Finance, Compliance, People, and other functions.

Requirements

• Typically 8+ years of experience across strategy and operations in fintech, financial services, or another high-growth, regulated environment.
• Experience building and implementing a company operating model and securing adoption from a leadership team.
• Track record of leading company-wide initiatives end to end, including embedding or stopping initiatives based on value.
• Experience managing a team of four or more strategy, operations, or programme professionals.
• Strong commercial and analytical judgement, including building models and making evidence-based recommendations.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and secure outcomes without formal authority, with credibility among a CEO, executive team, and Board.

Nice to have

• Experience in FCA-regulated financial services, especially retail investment, wealth, or savings platforms.
• Consulting, venture capital, or private equity experience combined with substantial in-house operating experience.
• P&L ownership or a record of measurable commercial performance improvement.
• Experience establishing data, analytics, or AI capabilities for executive decision-making.
