Laboratory Technician - Paper Testing

Location: Appleton, Wisconsin, United States; onsite laboratory role

Salary: $18.00–$21.00 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare samples and perform routine chemical, physical, and performance testing of disposable paper and hygiene consumer products.
• Follow laboratory SOPs, official methods, ASTM, CSPA, ISO, SSC, and customer-specific testing protocols.
• Receive, sort, log, label, archive, return, or dispose of client samples according to established procedures.
• Complete laboratory reports, tracking spreadsheets, job ticket reviews, invoicing follow-up, and data collection.
• Perform equipment quality assurance, quality control, calibration, and verification activities related to ISO 17025.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, housekeeping, safety practices, and personal protective equipment requirements while coordinating with local laboratories, global affiliates, clients, and internal departments.

Requirements

• Associate degree in natural sciences or a related scientific discipline preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Laboratory experience following strict safety standards.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to work independently under direct supervision and follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to understand safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to complete accurate work within required timeframes and solve problems in standardized situations.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related scientific discipline.
• Experience in science, engineering, pulp and paper, or a related scientific field.
• Experience with laboratory methods, sample processing, or ISO 17025 activities.
