Laboratory Technician - Paper Testing

Location: Appleton, Wisconsin, USA; onsite laboratory work

Salary: USD 18.00–21.00 per hour

What you will do

• Prepare samples and perform routine chemical, physical, and performance testing of disposable paper and hygiene consumer products.
• Follow laboratory SOPs, official methods, ASTM, CSPA, ISO, SSC, and customer-specific testing protocols.
• Receive, sort, log, label, archive, return, or dispose of client samples according to established procedures.
• Complete laboratory reports, tracking spreadsheets, job ticket reviews, data collection, and client correspondence.
• Perform equipment quality assurance, quality control, calibration, and verification activities related to ISO 17025.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, inventory, safety compliance, PPE use, and general laboratory upkeep.

Requirements

• Associate degree in natural sciences or a related scientific discipline preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience working in a laboratory while following strict safety standards.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to work independently under direct supervision and follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to follow procedures accurately and complete work within required timeframes.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related scientific discipline.
• Experience in science, engineering, pulp and paper, or a related scientific field.
