Data Governance Engineer

Location: Remote in Brazil, Mexico, or Uruguay

Salary: $75,000–$120,000 per year

hirify.global operates an on-demand marketplace for lawn care and outdoor services and is expanding into a broader home-services platform across three brands.

What you will do

• Own data quality and freshness across source systems, pipelines, reports, and machine learning data.
• Build automated monitoring, checks, anomaly detection, and incident-resolution workflows.
• Manage the Lightdash migration, including workspace structure, permissions, certification, naming standards, performance, and cost control.
• Extend and govern the semantic layer so critical metrics have consistent definitions and mappings.
• Govern Segment event tracking through event standards, ownership, property dictionaries, review processes, and drift detection.
• Develop data lineage, impact analysis, data contracts, AI data readiness, security, privacy, and documentation systems.

Requirements

• Senior, hands-on experience working with warehouse and pipeline systems.
• Strong SQL skills and the ability to debug Airflow DAGs and configure permissions directly.
• Credible experience keeping a BI tool and tracking plan healthy at company scale.
• Automation-first approach to recurring quality checks and monitoring.
• Daily use of AI tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or ChatGPT for automation, anomaly triage, and documentation.
• Must be available to work remotely from Brazil, Mexico, or Uruguay.

Nice to have

• Experience with Redshift, dbt, Airflow, Segment, Lightdash, Tableau, or Metabase.
• Experience governing data consumed by AI agents.
