Senior Amazon Connect Engineer (Conversational AI)

What you will do

• Design and build enterprise contact center solutions with Amazon Connect, including contact flows, routing, Customer Profiles, Cases, Tasks, Contact Lens, and Streams API experiences.
• Build conversational AI agents and self-service experiences using Amazon Connect AI capabilities, Amazon Bedrock, LLMs, tool calling, business workflows, authentication, and guardrails.
• Develop backend integrations and event-driven serverless systems with AWS Lambda, EventBridge, API Gateway, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, and Kinesis.
• Create custom agent and administrative interfaces with React and integrate contact center platforms with CRM and enterprise systems.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, observability, and alerting for production workloads.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and support migrations from legacy platforms such as Avaya, Genesys, Cisco, Oracle, and Salesforce.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience and 2+ years building enterprise solutions with Amazon Connect or comparable CCaaS platforms.
• Strong AWS cloud and serverless engineering experience, including production deployment and support.
• Strong TypeScript/Node.js and Python development experience, plus production React experience.
• Experience building conversational AI and Generative AI solutions, including LLM-based development, prompt engineering, AI tool calling, and external API integrations.
• Infrastructure as Code experience with AWS CDK or Terraform, along with automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
• Strong customer-facing, written, and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Amazon Lex, multi-agent AI architectures, AI guardrails, hallucination mitigation, and AI observability experience.
• Contact center analytics, Workforce Management, CRM integrations, and operational metrics experience.
• Experience with AWS Glue, Lake Formation, Athena, QuickSight, accessibility standards, regulated industries, or AWS certifications.
