Conversational AI Engineer (Google/GECX & Code Agents)

Location: Manila, Philippines; permanent fully remote position based in the Philippines; must be willing to work US business hours.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and optimize customer-facing multi-agent workflows for Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience using CX Agent Studio and programmatic Code Agents.
• Build modular, hierarchical agent networks with root, steering, and specialized sub-agents.
• Develop custom Python or TypeScript tool callbacks, backend logic, data transformations, and integrations with databases, product catalogs, CRMs, and CCaaS platforms such as Genesys and Avaya.
• Use the GECX engineering CLI, uv environments, cxas tooling, structural linting, and semantic instruction validation to manage agent hierarchies.
• Author generative playbooks and control flows with structured agent instructions, custom tools, and sub-agent routing.
• Automate golden-scenario tests, simulation evaluations, conversation trace analysis, and CI/CD quality checks to prevent hallucinations and regressions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent level of practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience building conversational AI solutions, virtual agents, or programmatic AI workflows.
• Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript/Node.js, including complex JSON payloads, RESTful APIs, and cloud-hosted webhooks.
• Experience with Git-based developer workflows, command-line interfaces, software versioning, and deployment.
• Hands-on experience with Google’s GECX Code Agent tooling, such as cxas-scrapi workspace/SDK and Python-based agent foundries.
• Good technical understanding of Dialogflow CX, CX Agent Studio, or similar advanced stateful conversational frameworks.
• Experience deploying streaming, low-latency audio-to-audio voice agents and integrating telephony through SIP/RTP or CCaaS partner environments.
• Solid understanding of prompt-engineering safety protocols, blocklists, and programmatic fallback behaviors including before_model_callback and after_tool_callback hooks.
• Experience with BigQuery or Google Cloud Logging for extracting conversation traces, searching text transcripts, and building data-driven performance metrics.
