Tax Operations Analyst

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States; onsite

Pay: $23 per hour

Contract: 6 months. Schedule: 50+ hours per week, with significant overtime based on business needs.

What you will do

• Review and validate client tax documentation, including W-9, W-8BEN, W-8BEN-E, and W-8IMY forms.
• Maintain accurate account documentation to support tax withholding and reporting.
• Research and respond to client inquiries about documentation, withholding, and applicable regulations.
• Investigate and resolve documentation breaks, exceptions, and discrepancies.
• Analyze data and workflows to identify risks and documentation issues.
• Collaborate with investment professionals, client service teams, clients, and management on complex or high-risk cases.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 1 year of experience in operations, tax, accounting, audit, financial services, or a related field.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, learn complex regulations, and escalate risks appropriately.
• Availability to work 50+ hours per week, including additional overtime as required by business demand.

Nice to have

• Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related discipline.
• Experience reviewing W-9 and W-8 series tax forms.
• Experience with client onboarding or Know Your Client (KYC) processes.
• Financial services or banking operations experience.
• Experience with SQL and/or Alteryx.
