State and Local Tax - Transaction Automation Intern (Tax Automation)

Location: Chicago, United States; travel to assigned client locations is required

Compensation: $34–$40 per hour

What you will do

• Collaborate with senior team members on client engagements focused on optimizing indirect tax technology processes and system solutions.
• Support the development of automated solutions, applications, processes, and systems for indirect tax compliance.
• Work with platforms and tools including Alteryx, Power BI, Postman, Avalara, Thomson Reuters OneSource for Indirect Tax, and Vertex.
• Correspond with clients on daily implementation tasks and matters.
• Collaborate with colleagues across Advisory, Tax, and Consulting teams to deliver client engagements.
• Support the national Transaction Tax Automation team and maintain client service and industry knowledge.

Requirements

• Complete at least 90 credit hours and work toward a B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree at an accredited university.
• Major in Computer Science, Accounting, or Finance.
• Access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel to assigned client locations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel proficiency.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

• A minimum 3.0 GPA.
