Software Development Engineer (US Federal)

Location: Boulder, Colorado, United States; hybrid work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Annual base salary: $130,400–$195,600 USD for the primary Boulder location. Additional US locations: $123,900–$222,000 USD.

What you will do

• Build and maintain robust, efficient, testable code for cloud-scale search services and user experiences.
• Develop features across frontend and backend surfaces using React, Kotlin, WebFlux, Elasticsearch, TypeScript, Cypress, and related tools.
• Support production services and customers across frontend and backend environments.
• Design and lead features with focus on scalability, performance, monitoring, security, usability, maintenance, and quality.
• Improve products and build pipelines while supporting engineers and collaborating with product, UX, design, and research teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of object-oriented design and enterprise software development experience focused on performance, scalability, and security.
• 1+ years of frontend development experience in the React ecosystem and RESTful web applications.
• 1+ years of experience supporting production services.
• 1+ years of experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Gradle, Jenkins, and deployment technologies such as Terraform and YAML.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with distributed and concurrent systems, technical leadership, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and Scrum-based cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Kotlin, Java, Spring Boot, or functional programming background.
• Knowledge of hirify.global XpressO and hirify.global internal code lifecycle development.
• Familiarity with multiple programming languages and paradigms.
