Laboratory Technician (Clinical Laboratory)

Location: Lenexa, Kansas, USA; onsite laboratory work. Candidates must be within commuting distance and authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

What you will do

• Perform laboratory tests, sample examination, preparation, pipetting, labeling, storage, retrieval, and filing.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments according to standard operating procedures.
• Prepare reagents and materials and maintain adequate testing supplies.
• Enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System and document troubleshooting, corrective actions, quality assurance, and maintenance activities.
• Follow laboratory safety, quality, regulatory, and aseptic-work requirements while maintaining clean and sterile work areas.
• Collaborate with laboratory associates to complete daily activities within established processing timelines.

Requirements

• BS or BA in biological, physical, chemical, or a related science field; related degrees must include 16 hours of Biology, 16 hours of Chemistry, and 3 hours of Mathematics.
• Ability to work with automated and manual platforms and perform aseptic techniques.
• Intermediate proficiency with PC-based software and database skills, including data entry into laboratory systems.
• Ability to read and follow SOPs, operating and maintenance instructions, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, time management, communication, interpersonal, and confidentiality skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Nice to have

• At least one year of data entry experience.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience.
• Experience or formal training handling potentially infectious human blood and bodily fluids.
