Equipment Maintenance Technician-MOCVD (Night Shift)

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina, USA; onsite cleanroom work with night and weekend shifts or on-call rotation

Salary: $70,000–$90,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on MOCVD reactors used in semiconductor epitaxy.
• Support chamber cleans, hardware replacements, rebuilds, calibrations, system resets, and scheduled PMs.
• Troubleshoot vacuum pumps, mass flow controllers, valves, robotics, sensors, heating systems, and gas panels.
• Respond to production tool-down events and restore equipment operation in collaboration with Equipment Engineers.
• Perform system checks, startup and shutdown procedures, readiness verifications, and equipment monitoring.
• Maintain maintenance records and use CMMS systems to track work orders, parts usage, and equipment status.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent military or technical experience.
• Hands-on experience maintaining complex equipment such as semiconductor tools, industrial machinery, or vacuum systems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and/or vacuum systems.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
• Ability to work onsite in a cleanroom with full gowning and PPE.
• Ability to work night and weekend shifts or participate in an on-call rotation.

Nice to have

• Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, including MOCVD, PVD, CVD, or etch tools.
• Experience with hazardous gas handling systems.
• Familiarity with data collection tools, SPC charts, or equipment monitoring software.
• CMMS experience with systems such as Maximo or SAP PM.
• Training in 5-Why analysis, root cause analysis, or basic troubleshooting methods.
