What you will do

• Design software system architectures by decomposing capabilities into services and components.
• Produce and maintain architecture, interface, dependency, and other systems engineering artifacts.
• Plan and execute system integration efforts, including integration strategies, interface coordination, test events, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop CONOPS and translate operational workflows into system requirements and interfaces.
• Coordinate with stakeholders across teams through technical writing, design reviews, and engineering workflows.
• Support mission-focused systems in SMF environments and learn new technologies and methodologies as programs evolve.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of systems engineering experience on software system projects.
• Experience with system architecture, design, interfaces, dependencies, and system integration.
• Experience with SMF environments and services.
• Extensive experience with Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence, for backlog management, documentation, and engineering workflows.
• Strong stakeholder communication, technical writing, and design review skills.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.

Nice to have

• AWS fundamentals, including networking, compute, storage, and IAM.
• Cloud-native technologies such as Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
• API design and documentation with OpenAPI or Swagger.
• SQL/NoSQL, data modeling, caching, backup and restore strategies, and message or event systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub.
• Linux proficiency, including shell usage, services, and troubleshooting.
