Principal Program Finance Analyst

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $100,000–$275,000 base salary per year

Independent nonprofit research and development organization delivering solutions across national defense, space exploration, biomedical engineering, and other complex technical domains.

What you will do

• Aggregate internal budgets and reporting for investment projects, revenue, fees, cash flow, and other discretionary activities.
• Establish initial budgets, develop baselines, and report performance against cost and technical expectations.
• Analyze variances, KPIs, investment decisions, and business cases to provide financial guidance.
• Communicate financial information to internal leaders and project management, including support for PMRs and QBRs.
• Develop required deliverables and support ad hoc projects, special tasks, and internal or external audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant discipline.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Project management, budget analysis, and variance analysis skills across multiple projects.
• Strong Microsoft Excel and broader Microsoft software proficiency.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, fixed assets, useful life, and depreciation schedules.
• Ability to present complex information to all levels of management and work independently or collaboratively.
