Manager I, Engineering - Cloud FinOps

Location: New York, New York, USA; hybrid workplace

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 USD per year, plus equity and potentially variable compensation.

What you will do

• Lead and grow an engineering team building the platform that allocates cloud costs to products and customers.
• Own runtime and release delivery, coverage onboarding, and cost-to-customer identity mapping.
• Define versioned Finance publication contracts with effective dates, backfills, and reproducible history.
• Define metric contracts with platform teams and improve cost coverage and accuracy.
• Partner with Revenue Engineering on cost-to-revenue identity joins for product and customer margins.
• Reduce key-person risk in runtime and compiler architecture and use AI tooling to improve team productivity.

Requirements

• Experience managing data platform or data engineering teams building batch and pipeline systems judged on correctness and reproducibility.
• Experience shipping versioned publication with effective dates, backfill, and reproducible history.
• Experience managing delivery commitments with teams outside the reporting line.
• Domain experience in metering, usage-based billing, cloud cost, revenue data, or financial data platforms.
• Ability to set external contracts, negotiate boundaries, and drive a roadmap without a product manager.

Nice to have

• Experience with Finance-audited or closed systems, including SOX scope, month-end close, or revenue recognition.
• Experience with graph datasets or retrieval-grounded systems with source citations.
