Data Engineer II

Location: Arlington, TX, United States (Hybrid); two days per week in the office.

What you will do

• Design, integrate, and manage data pipelines that collect, transform, monitor, and load data from external sources, internal systems, and data warehouses.
• Identify and format data and extract relevant features for business and analytics needs.
• Research, evaluate, and experiment with batch and streaming data engineering technologies, including solutions for large semi-structured and unstructured data sets.
• Collaborate with data engineering groups and business stakeholders to demonstrate emerging technologies and resolve data availability and activation issues.
• Implement business rules, schema enhancements, and data process improvements.
• Coordinate with Privacy Compliance to ensure appropriate data collection and handling.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of hands-on data engineering experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience designing, processing, and managing large-scale data with Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, HDFS, or similar distributed platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL and data pipelines across JSON, Parquet, relational databases, cloud databases, and messaging platforms.
• Understanding of data lakes, lakehouses, streaming pipelines, and object storage such as ADLS Gen2 and Amazon S3.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies such as Cosmos DB, MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis, including data analysis and translating findings into insights.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes; familiarity with Git, CI/CD, build tools, code quality tools, artifact management, and Agile methodologies such as Scrum or SAFe.
• Experience with digital data and customer-data technologies, including Adobe Experience Platform, Real-Time CDP, Journey Analytics, tag management platforms, SDKs, and REST APIs.
• Understanding of data privacy, security, governance, and regulatory requirements, including GDPR.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, written communication, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Ability to use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, evaluate AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias, integrate AI into workflows, conduct AI-assisted research and summarization, and apply responsible AI practices.
