Director, Procurement - Biologics Category

Location: Hybrid, based in Titusville, New Jersey, USA, with alternate locations potentially available in Spring House, Pennsylvania, USA; Cork, Ireland; Beerse, Belgium; or Zug, Switzerland. On-site presence is required at least three days per week, with up to two remote workdays. The role may require up to 20% domestic and international travel.

Anticipated annual pay range: €119,200–€204,355 in the primary posting location. Ireland range: €104,000–€156,100.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end biologics raw material procurement strategy and execution for new product pipeline and launch-and-grow products.
• Develop sourcing roadmaps using market intelligence and category expertise to deliver cost efficiency, value creation, and procurement capability improvements.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, including selection, due diligence, onboarding, performance management, contracting, and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Supply Chain, R&D, and senior stakeholders to support product launches, operational readiness, sourcing priorities, and risk assessments.
• Drive commercial value through cost-effective sourcing, cost avoidance, cash-flow improvement, forecasting, budgeting, and contract negotiations.
• Advance supply-chain resilience, sustainable procurement, supplier diversity, digital tools, automation, analytics, and supplier innovation initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or equivalent university degree required; Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated procurement or category management experience, including sourcing strategy, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
• Proficiency with procurement analytics, e-sourcing, contracting, and reporting tools.
• Strong communication, presentation, influencing, partnership-building, consultation, mentoring, and strategic thinking skills.
• Professional English proficiency is required, and the role requires on-site work at least three days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, specialty chemical, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience with complex supply chains or direct material procurement categories.
• Familiarity with emerging digital and AI tools.
