Technician, Facility Services, Irrigation

Location: Onsite in Las Cruces, New Mexico, United States

Salary: $21.00–$40.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour depending on schedule, facility, season, or work performed.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation components, including controllers, wiring, valves, heads, rotors, bubblers, drip lines, and potable or non-potable piping.
• Perform pressure testing, trenching, pipe installation, equipment adjustment, winterization, spring start-up procedures, and seasonal exterior maintenance.
• Operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery, vehicles, specialized tools, and powered equipment in accordance with safety and certification requirements.
• Respond to work orders, prioritize facility needs, update electronic records, prepare reports, and coordinate assignments with managers, coworkers, customers, and external partners.
• Evaluate replacement needs, recommend irrigation and facility upgrades, support sustainable improvements, source equipment, and help reduce operating costs.
• Maintain corporate vehicles, conduct required inspections, coordinate repairs, verify documentation and insurance, and submit maintenance invoices.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience with material handling equipment or a related area, or two years of Walmart store experience.
• Valid state-issued driver's license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, wet or slippery conditions, confined spaces, uneven ground, and at heights, including roofs, scaffolding, and ceiling spaces.
• Ability to work overnight or varying hours when required and follow safety, maintenance, documentation, and vehicle-operation procedures.
• Ability to coordinate work, communicate effectively, use electronic devices and systems, and maintain accurate records.

Nice to have

• Landscaping or irrigation experience with plumbing and electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience interpreting design drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Experience with water conservation practices.
• Spanish speaking and comprehension proficiency.
• Applicable state or local licensing, where required.
