Accounting Manager, Fixed Assets & Capital Accounting

Location: Remote - United States. Candidates residing in Alaska, Delaware, Iowa, Mississippi, Nebraska, South Dakota, West Virginia, or Wisconsin are not being considered.

Salary: $117,300–$169,000 annually, depending on US compensation region, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end accounting for PP&E, intangibles, construction-in-progress, leasehold improvements, tenant improvement allowances, and facility investments.
• Manage internal-use software capitalization under ASC 350-40, including project identification, development-stage cost tracking, capitalization, and amortization.
• Own the global corporate lease accounting portfolio under ASC 842, including classifications, discount rates, modifications, and right-of-use asset and liability reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows presentation for assets, leases, CAPEX, and non-cash adjustments.
• Design scalable capitalization, asset discovery, inventory verification, and accounting policy processes with Engineering, IT, Facilities, Supply Chain, Marketing, Legal, and other partners.
• Evaluate accounting systems and automation opportunities, support corporate accounting projects, and serve as the primary external-audit contact for capital accounting matters.

Requirements

• 6–8+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience, including 4+ years owning fixed assets, CAPEX, leasehold improvements, capitalized software, and ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 360, ASC 350-40, ASC 842, and capital asset impacts on the statement of cash flows.
• Experience with real estate transactions, facility build-outs, leasehold improvement amortization, tenant improvement allowances, and software development capitalization.
• Proven ability to design, document, and execute SOX controls and lead physical asset existence and completeness audits.
• Hands-on experience with fixed asset and lease management modules in Tier-1 ERPs such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA certification required.

• Experience in hardware, consumer technology, software, manufacturing, or other capital-intensive businesses.
