Senior Manager, Infrastructure Lease Accounting

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time

Annual salary: $190,000–$230,000 USD

What you will do

• Own end-to-end accounting for the infrastructure lease portfolio, including monthly close, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and flux analysis.
• Apply ASC 842 expertise to lease classification, measurement, modifications, embedded leases, and reassessments.
• Partner with Real Estate, Legal, Finance, Data Center Operations, engineering, and infrastructure stakeholders during contract negotiation and execution.
• Explain financial statement impacts to non-finance stakeholders and improve cost transparency.
• Design scalable systems, processes, controls, data pipelines, and automation for a rapidly growing lease portfolio.
• Mentor accounting professionals and serve as a key contact for external auditors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant equivalent background.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of ASC 842, particularly for infrastructure, data center, or compute-related arrangements.
• Experience managing a significant lease portfolio in a high-growth environment.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with large, complex datasets.
• Experience improving scalable financial processes and partnering with engineering, infrastructure, or operations teams.
• Experience mentoring accounting professionals and communicating technical accounting concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including work at technology or infrastructure-heavy companies.
• Experience with hyperscalers, large compute consumers, data center operators, colocation, dark fiber IRUs, or compute and equipment leases.
• Experience with lease accounting software at scale and SQL proficiency.
• Big Four accounting or advisory experience combined with industry experience.
• Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure, hybrid cloud or on-premise environments, and AI tooling such as Claude for accounting automation.
