Solutions Architect - Benelux Fungible (Data & AI)

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; office-based with a hybrid schedule

What you will do

• Lead technical strategy for targeted engagements lasting approximately one to five months.
• Move strategic customer workloads from evaluation toward production-grade deployment and platform consumption.
• Design scalable solutions across data engineering, ML/AI, real-time analytics, cloud infrastructure, security, and governance.
• Lead whiteboarding sessions, design reviews, trade-off analysis, and architecture discussions with senior customer stakeholders.
• Demonstrate Databricks differentiation through custom-built solutions in competitive opportunities.
• Package engagement outcomes for transition to core solutions architects, specialists, data scientists, and partners.

Requirements

• Approximately six or more years of experience in solutions architecture, data engineering, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical role.
• Hands-on coding ability in Python and SQL, including building, debugging, and demonstrating working solutions live.
• Experience with distributed data systems, production cloud deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP, scalable pipelines, streaming, and lakehouse patterns.
• Understanding of infrastructure, security, and governance requirements for production data platforms.
• Experience leading architecture discussions, design reviews, trade-off analysis, and translating technical architecture into business value.
• Comfort with ambiguity, time-boxed engagements, rapid prioritization, and high-impact customer work.

Nice to have

• Databricks certifications in Data Engineering, ML, or Platform.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, AWS native services, or Azure Synapse.
• Experience in a data/AI company or cloud provider.
• Industry expertise in financial services, healthcare, retail, media, or another vertical.
