Digital Consulting - Databricks Technical Architect - Manager (Databricks)

Location: Chicago, United States

Salary: $145,000–$170,000 per year, plus eligibility for annual incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Design, configure, and productionalize Databricks Lakehouse environments, including workspace architecture, Unity Catalog, networking, IAM, and cost governance.
• Design and deploy medallion data pipelines using Delta Lake, Auto Loader, Lakeflow Declarative Pipelines, Structured Streaming, and CDC patterns.
• Establish infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD foundations with Terraform, Databricks Asset Bundles, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Build applied AI solutions with Mosaic AI, MLflow, Vector Search, Model Serving, Genie, and AI/BI for conversational analytics and intelligent data integration.
• Optimize Delta Lake performance and design platforms for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Lead technical workstreams, communicate architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and coach client technology partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of hands-on Databricks experience within a broader background in data engineering, cloud data platforms, and analytics architecture.
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or Machine Learning Professional certification required.
• Hands-on expertise with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Lakeflow, Structured Streaming, Databricks Workflows, Mosaic AI, MLflow, Feature Store, and Genie or AI/BI.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark; experience with Terraform, Databricks Asset Bundles, and CI/CD for data platforms.
• Cloud-agnostic capability across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with AWS experience preferred.

Nice to have

• Scala experience.
• Familiarity with Lakehouse Federation, Delta Sharing, and integrations with Salesforce Data Cloud, Snowflake, or Microsoft Fabric.
• Exposure to MDM, data quality, or data governance workflows.
