Databricks Senior Solutions Architect - Benelux + Nordics-Based | Contractor (Databricks)

Location: Remote; applicants must be based in the Benelux or Nordics region and maintain significant time zone overlap with clients.

What you will do

• Provide post-sales technical leadership for strategic customers designing and implementing big data projects.
• Guide architecture, data engineering, model deployment, and Databricks platform adoption.
• Design production-level workloads and optimize end-to-end pipeline performance through testing and tuning.
• Identify data initiatives that create measurable business value and align with customer goals.
• Deliver tutorials, training sessions, hackathons, and conference presentations.

Requirements

• Hands-on expertise with Apache Spark and Databricks across several large-scale projects.
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional certification.
• More than five years of Software Engineering or Data Engineering experience, including query tuning, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Experience with Hadoop, NoSQL, MPP, OLTP, and OLAP technologies.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java, plus experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Customer-facing experience in technical architecture, consulting, pre-sales, or post-sales, with strong communication and presentation skills.

Nice to have

• Data Science or ML Engineering experience, including model selection, lifecycle management, hyperparameter tuning, model serving, deep learning, and MLflow.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, testing, automation, orchestration, REST APIs, BI tools, SQL interfaces, and Jenkins.
