HVAC Electrical Controls Installer (Building Automation)

Location: West Columbia, South Carolina, United States. Field-based role with work conducted on-site at customer locations and regular travel, including occasional overnight stays.

Hourly base pay: $26.35–$40.77.

What you will do

• Install building automation, temperature control, and direct digital control systems.
• Interpret control drawings, plans, and specifications while installing conduit, enclosures, wiring, and end devices.
• Prepare job sites, gather materials, anticipate installation issues, and coordinate work with other trades.
• Serve as the direct customer contact; service, diagnose, repair, and commission equipment and control systems.
• Maintain inventory, tools, vehicles, equipment, records, and required project paperwork.
• Follow strict safety and asset-accountability procedures, with flexibility for overtime and travel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically 2–5+ years of HVAC or controls experience.
• Knowledge of low-voltage electricity, electronics, board-level troubleshooting, direct digital controls, and building control techniques.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and handheld devices such as smartphones or iPads.
• Valid driver's license held for at least 12 months with an acceptable driving record.
• Technical school or formal training is preferred; previous DDC controls experience and participation in an ABC electrical apprenticeship program are desired.
