Registered Nurse (RN), Inpatient Oncology Per Diem

Location: 100% onsite at Mount Auburn Hospital, 300 Mount Auburn St, Cambridge, MA 02138

Salary: $44.14–$109.51 per hour

What you will do

• Deliver direct inpatient oncology nursing care, including assessments, individualized care plans, symptom management, and outcome evaluation.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive therapies while monitoring and responding to adverse events.
• Manage ports, PICC lines, infusion equipment, PPE, and medication administration records.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, self-care, side effects, and discharge instructions.
• Document care in Epic and participate in infection prevention, hazardous drug handling, quality improvement, safety, and research activities.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, social workers, research staff, and nursing support personnel.

Requirements

• Current unrestricted Massachusetts Registered Nurse license required.
• Associate degree in Nursing required; candidates with an associate degree must complete a BSN within four years. A bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate required or must be obtained within six months of hire, depending on the role.
• Basic Life Support certification required. ACLS is preferred depending on the work area.
• Proficiency in chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration, central line care, infusion therapy, blood product administration, and recognition of oncologic emergencies.
• Recent RN, acute care, oncology, hematology, or ambulatory infusion experience and Epic experience are preferred.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Oncology Certified Nurse certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification.
• Recent acute care or inpatient oncology experience.
