Field Service Technician (Electronics/Electrical Engineering)

Location: San Luis Potosi, Mexico; travel required for up to 75% of the time

What you will do

• Test, repair, convert, and troubleshoot SEL products to the component level.
• Diagnose complex hardware problems and work with technicians and engineers to identify root causes.
• Maintain knowledge of SEL products and processes to ensure product quality and integrity.
• Provide basic troubleshooting training to junior department personnel.
• Partner with other divisions to meet customer needs at customer sites.

Requirements

• Two-year degree in electronic engineering technology or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of analog, digital, and microprocessor-based electronics.
• Willingness to travel for up to 75% of the time.
• Ability to work in an electronics laboratory environment and solve complex technical problems collaboratively.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 35 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to sit and stand for at least eight hours, differentiate colors, use computer keyboard devices, and reach, bend, and twist.

Nice to have

• Two years of experience in electronic design, manufacturing, or testing.
• Working knowledge of structured programming.
• Process improvement experience.
