Accounting Financial Systems Consultant

Location: Alexandria, Virginia, in the Washington, DC Metro Area; office and client-site work required as needed. Virtual/remote work may be available within the U.S. depending on business needs.

Salary: $80,000–$140,000 base pay annually, plus potential overtime pay, benefits, and bonuses.

What you will do

• Design analytics solutions using General Ledger and feeder-system data.
• Analyze financial data to solve accounting and financial management problems.
• Translate business processes and stakeholder needs into technical requirements.
• Collaborate with developers to build applications, prototypes, and analytics solutions.
• Support junior developers during implementation and clarify functional and technical questions.
• Validate delivered solutions against accounting needs and identify process automation opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
• At least four years of progressive experience in auditing, accounting, data analytics, financial management, or a related area.
• Experience working with accounting stakeholders and technical teams to define actionable requirements.
• Experience analyzing General Ledger and financial reporting data, with knowledge of data structures, workflows, and systems integration.
• Experience using Python, PySpark, SQL, or another programming language.
• Active Interim Secret Clearance or higher is required, along with U.S. citizenship.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Department of War Data Platform, ERP systems such as Army GFEBS, Navy ERP, or DAI, or similar data platforms.
• Public accounting, auditing, financial analytics, or Department of War financial management experience.
• Experience with USSGL accounts, ERP subledger queries, Palantir Foundry, Databricks, Qlik, or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
