IS Application Manager (Java/Spring Boot)

What you will do

• Lead software engineering teams developing, modernizing, implementing, and supporting enterprise applications.
• Perform hands-on coding and oversee Java/Spring Boot backend services, REST APIs, microservices, and React-based interfaces.
• Define technical vision, engineering strategy, architecture standards, integration patterns, and development roadmaps.
• Drive migration from legacy platforms to open-system, API-driven, cloud-ready, and microservices-based architectures.
• Manage projects, technical risks, dependencies, resources, vendors, delivery commitments, and production support.
• Build and develop engineering teams through hiring, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of software engineering and enterprise application development experience.
• 3+ years of software engineering team management or equivalent technical leadership experience.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, REST APIs, microservices, and full-stack development.
• Experience with software architecture, distributed systems, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, security, cloud technologies, relational databases, and SQL.
• Ability to balance technical depth, people leadership, delivery commitments, and business priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud; Docker and Kubernetes; messaging and streaming technologies; and modern CI/CD platforms.
• Knowledge of event-driven architecture, domain-driven design, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, OAuth2, JWT, and API gateways.
• Experience with NoSQL, caching, application performance management, observability, and legacy application modernization.
• Background in financial services, banking, insurance, or other regulated enterprise environments.
• Experience implementing AI/GenAI capabilities or AI-assisted software engineering practices.
