Full Time Instructional Designer - Higher Ed

What you will do

• Design, develop, publish, and maintain courses in the institution’s LMS for online, hybrid, and face-to-face delivery.
• Create course overviews, syllabi, learning outcomes, multimedia activities, assessments, and interactive eLearning modules.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to convert specialized knowledge into accurate, accessible, and student-centered learning experiences.
• Apply adult learning theory, evidence-based instructional strategies, and higher education instructional design models.
• Review curriculum updates, maintain course resources, and ensure alignment with institutional and regulatory standards.
• Pilot learning technologies, gather feedback, analyze outcomes, and recommend course improvements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience designing and delivering higher education courses.
• Proficiency with instructional technology, multimedia authoring tools, course development software, and LMS platforms; Canvas experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of learning theories, instructional design models, and online course development.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, along with strong project management, organization, collaboration, and stakeholder-support abilities.
• Knowledge of FERPA, copyright, ADA, accessibility, and other online learning compliance requirements.

Nice to have

• Four or more years of experience applying learning theory to online course development.
• Higher education administration experience.
