VP / SVP of Finance (Early CFO Track)

What you will do

• Own FP&A, accounting, treasury, controls, tax, audit, reporting, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
• Build the financial roadmap from the first contract through development and mass production of tens of thousands of units per year.
• Prepare and support venture fundraising, structure and close debt financing, and manage diligence from data room through closing.
• Manage facilities, real estate, equipment, project-based, BOM, and working-capital financing for production ramps.
• Own the financial mechanics of US Government contracts, including contract structures, milestone billing, cash-flow timing, and compliant cost accounting.
• Build financial systems, processes, models, controls, and a finance team while partnering with engineering, operations, program leadership, investors, and the board.

Requirements

• Ownership of a finance function with direct accountability for budgeting, burn, runway, spend controls, and cash.
• Experience leading or supporting institutional fundraising and managing investor diligence.
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario-planning skills in a high-growth environment.
• At least three of the following: hardware production finance, US Government contract finance, debt and equity financing, and core banking or accounting experience.
• Excellent communication skills for partnering with a CEO, board, engineering, operations, and technical leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Nice to have

• VP of Finance or CFO experience at a venture-backed hardware or deep-tech company.
• Defense, aerospace, or capital-intensive manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with DCAA, cost accounting standards, FAR/DFARS, export controls, securities matters, or contract negotiation.
• MBA, CPA, engineering or technical background, and experience with Series B+ financing rounds.
• An established network of growth investors, lenders, and finance professionals.
