Mission Infrastructure Engineering Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Onsite in Pueblo, Colorado, United States. Travel up to 20% within the continental United States.

Base salary: $130,000–$160,000 annually.

What you will do

• Lead, develop, and grow a team of 5–8 engineers across facility design, construction project engineering, commissioning, and industrial engineering.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across capital projects from requirements and design through construction and operational commissioning.
• Own the MIE project portfolio, including schedule, budget, scope, program controls, documentation, and execution processes.
• Translate program and DoD requirements into facility infrastructure strategies in partnership with manufacturing, process, automation, safety, and compliance functions.
• Establish SOW frameworks, commissioning protocols, design review processes, and scalable infrastructure delivery standards.
• Manage contractors, construction firms, subcontractors, and vendors while presenting project proposals, risks, status, and decisions to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline with 7 years of relevant experience, or 15 years of hands-on facilities and infrastructure engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• End-to-end capital project delivery experience in an industrial, defense, or manufacturing environment.
• At least 3 years of experience leading and developing engineering teams.
• Experience establishing project controls, SOW development, documentation standards, and operating processes in an ambiguous environment.
• Experience managing external contractors, construction firms, vendors, bid evaluations, contracts, and performance across concurrent projects.
• Must satisfy U.S. Government export requirements and be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required authorizations. Must also meet applicable explosives licensing, background investigation, drug-free workplace, and physical requirements, including the ability to handle up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment with PPE.

Nice to have

• Experience with energetic materials, explosives, or hazardous manufacturing facilities, including C1D1/C2D1 environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent project scheduling and controls tools.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or similar facility design tools.
• PMP, CCM, or equivalent certification applied to capital construction or industrial facility programs.
