Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite position. The role requires willingness to support 24/7 operations during mission-critical phases, overtime or weekends during key milestones, and travel up to 20% of the time. Candidates must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing.
Salary: $137,000–$195,000 USD per year.

What you will do
- Develop technical training materials for crew members and Haven-1 flight controllers across vehicle subsystems.
- Build and execute training simulations, including scenario construction, scripting, automation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and test crew operations, procedures, and human-in-the-loop verification and validation processes.
- Lead technical training events and certification activities for astronauts and flight control personnel.
- Collaborate with Mission Management and engineering teams to translate customer requirements into Concepts of Operations and mission procedures.
- Support real-time missions through vehicle commissioning, on-orbit operations, anomaly resolution, deorbit activities, and telemetry analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, software, or another engineering discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience operating or developing training for complex spaceflight systems.
- Experience building systems, processes, and teams for aerospace operations and training.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, communicate technical information clearly, and make decisions in high-stress situations.
- Strong technical writing, communication, presentation, and delivery skills.
- U.S. person status or eligibility for deemed export licensing is required for access to controlled information and items.
Nice to have
- Experience in human factors engineering, human systems integration, usability testing, or human spaceflight mission operations.
- Experience developing and delivering crew and flight control team training, with on-console operational competency.
- Master’s degree in a technical field and experience in spacecraft design, build, and test.
- Knowledge of spacecraft systems, space-to-ground communications, ground systems, command-line interfaces, and scripting.
- Experience with Git, C++, Golang, Markdown, JavaScript, React, MATLAB, Python/Octave, software architecture, databases, or cloud systems.
