Corporate Security Officer (3PM - 11PM)

Location: Des Moines, Iowa, 1100 Locust Street; onsite second-shift work from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Salary: $50,000 starting salary plus a 10% shift differential. The national range is $49,100–$91,300, with an expected starting range of $49,100–$73,700.

What you will do

• Screen and assist visitors and callers entering corporate facilities.
• Patrol buildings and campus areas while protecting associates, visitors, facilities, and property.
• Respond to alarms, workplace violence, fires, medical emergencies, crimes, elevator incidents, and other emergency situations.
• Monitor and troubleshoot alarm, CCTV, access control, fire, elevator, intercom, and other electronic protection systems.
• Investigate suspicious incidents, prepare loss and incident reports, preserve evidence, and support court proceedings.
• Manage facility access, issue access cards, conduct safety inspections, provide escorts, and support security training.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; a bachelor's or technical school degree is preferred.
• At least one year of related security experience.
• Knowledge of corporate safety and security practices, equipment, firearms, and security console operations.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain the physical condition required to walk, run, stoop, kneel, carry, and lift.
• Strong computer, verbal communication, written communication, judgment, and de-escalation skills.
• Availability for weekends, holidays, after-hours emergencies, and the assigned 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. shift is required.
