Senior Systems Engineer

Salary: $82,300–$220,000 base salary per year

What you will do

• Execute systems engineering lifecycle assignments independently and drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction.
• Develop, integrate, and analyze multidisciplinary models to support system-level performance trade-offs and decision-making.
• Apply modeling and simulation, trade space exploration, advanced algorithms, and data-driven engineering methods.
• Identify technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
• Lead small teams of fewer than five people and align work with program goals.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and communicate technical concepts to customers, engineers, managers, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or a related field; a master's degree or higher is preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience as a systems engineer or in a related role.
• Experience with model development, digital linking, model integration, simulation-based performance analysis, and analysis of alternatives under uncertainty.
• Experience with one or more of MagicDraw, DOORS, MATLAB/Simulink, or Python, plus data visualization and storyboarding.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to structure complex, ambiguous problems.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance is required. A current Secret Clearance is desired.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating descriptive modeling tools with simulation tools.
• Technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, and management experience.
• Expertise with the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook, the Department of Defense Acquisition Framework, or comparable systems engineering standards.
