TL;DR
Principal Engineer, Foundational Services (Netscaler/HashiCorp Vault): Designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable foundational platform services for a high-volume 24x7 digital ecosystem with an accent on availability, security, automation, and service-oriented architecture. Focus on infrastructure architecture, PCI compliance, observability, incident prevention, and mentoring engineers across complex cross-functional initiatives.

What you will do
- Lead technical strategy, roadmap planning, and architecture reviews for foundational services.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable services including load balancing, DNS, IPAM, certificate management, Vault, proxies, CDN, and API management.
- Implement infrastructure automation, IaC, monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling.
- Debug production issues, respond to outages, and improve stability, capacity, performance, and reliability in a 24x7 environment.
- Collaborate with Networking, Data Center Operations, Security, and other technology teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture documentation, diagrams, proofs of concept, and code reviews.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with most of the supported foundational services.
- Expertise in Netscaler load balancing, HashiCorp Vault, internal and public DNS, PKI and certificate management, egress proxies, Fastly, and Apigee.
- Experience with DevOps and SRE practices, GitLab, CI/CD, monitoring, and alerting.
- Understanding of PCI compliance, security protocols, and security best practices.
- Software development experience with Python, Java, or Go, plus software design patterns, Git, and code reviews.
- Agile methodology experience and experience contributing to a fully remote team.
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud and on-premises data center environments.
- Experience working with Scaled Agile Framework methodology.
