Medical Coder - FSP (Homebased - UK) (MedDRA/WHODD): Coding adverse events, medical history, and prior and concomitant medications for clinical research projects with an accent on medical terminology, coding conventions, and data consistency. Focus on generating discrepancy queries, reconciling serious adverse events, and coordinating timely coding with medical monitors and clinical data management teams.
Location: Homebased in the United Kingdom; Reading, Berkshire

What you will do
- Code adverse events, medical history, and prior and concomitant medications using MedDRA and WHODD.
- Follow departmental coding conventions and company standard operating procedures.
- Generate queries to clarify potentially discrepant data.
- Support coding consistency reviews and serious adverse event reconciliation.
- Collaborate with medical monitors, clinical teams, and data management teams to meet project timelines.
- Assist with interdepartmental training for new staff when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or a related health science background; equivalent experience may substitute for a four-year degree.
- At least 2 years of industry experience in pharmacovigilance, clinical research, and/or clinical data management.
- Experience with MedDRA and WHODD, plus working knowledge of medical terminology, clinical trials, and medical coding.
- Experience with coding tools such as Medidata RAVE Coder, TMS, or Veeva.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- This role is not eligible for UK visa sponsorship.
