TL;DR
Permitting Manager (Nuclear): Securing state and local permits for transporting and deploying portable nuclear microreactors at customer sites with an accent on regulated infrastructure, site-specific applications, and cross-functional execution. Focus on managing contractors and consultants, defining permitting requirements across states, building repeatable permitting playbooks, and reducing time-to-permit for novel reactor deployments.

Location: Washington, D.C.; 100% onsite at El Segundo headquarters or Washington, D.C.

Salary: $115,000–$168,000 annually, plus equity.

Company

hirify.global is a startup developing portable, factory-built nuclear microreactors for hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases.

What you will do

  • Own state and local permitting for reactor transportation and deployment from application through approval.
  • Prepare and file permit applications using accurate technical and site-specific information.
  • Manage contractors and consultants supporting permit applications, site work, and inspections.
  • Coordinate with regulatory affairs, engineering, legal, operations, community engagement, and customer permitting teams.
  • Track permit requirements and risks across active and prospective deployment sites, escalating delays to leadership.
  • Build repeatable permitting processes and playbooks and support site selection with permitting feasibility analysis.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing permitting processes for industrial, energy, infrastructure, or other highly regulated facility projects.
  • Experience managing contractors or consultants through permitting or entitlement processes.
  • Strong understanding of zoning, siting, environmental review, and construction permitting.
  • Ability to define state and local permitting requirements independently in ambiguous, state-by-state environments.
  • Clear communication with customers, contractors, consultants, and internal technical teams.
  • Willingness to work 100% onsite in El Segundo or Washington, D.C., including extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

  • Permitting experience for nuclear or other energy-generation assets.
  • Experience with military installations or oversize-load transportation across state boundaries.
  • Familiarity with NRC licensing and state PUC processes.
  • Experience supporting first-of-a-kind or novel infrastructure deployments.

Culture & Benefits

  • Substantial incentive stock plan for full-time employees.
  • Comprehensive medical, vision, dental, FSA/HSA, commuter, and voluntary insurance benefits.
  • Eight weeks of paid parental leave for all parents, with additional paid pregnancy leave for California employees.
  • Flexible PTO, a remote workday allocation, catered lunches, and sponsored One Medical memberships.
  • Company and team events, in-person collaboration, and an El Segundo headquarters near the Pacific Ocean.
