TL;DR
US Senior Medical Director (Autoimmune T1D) (medical affairs and autoimmune type 1 diabetes): Develop and execute US medical strategy, integrated medical plans, evidence generation, scientific communications, and safety activities for autoimmune T1D products with an accent on medical research, real-world evidence, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional leadership. Focus on designing post-marketing data programs, translating field insights into strategy, managing safety signals, and ensuring compliant scientific and promotional communications.

Location: Morristown, New Jersey, United States; onsite. US and Puerto Rico residents only.

Salary: $206,250.00–$343,750.00 per year.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute integrated US medical affairs plans covering medical education, insight gathering, scientific evidence generation, publications, advisory boards, and information exchange.
  • Identify and oversee external scientific collaborations, company-sponsored studies, investigator-initiated projects, and post-marketing data generation through real-world evidence and registries.
  • Translate field medical insights into strategy and action plans addressing unmet patient and healthcare needs.
  • Build relationships with thought leaders and engage healthcare professionals, medical societies, policymakers, and payers.
  • Provide medical leadership to commercial, legal, regulatory, safety, quality, and scientific communications functions.
  • Review promotional and regulatory materials, support product labeling, and manage product alerts, adverse events, and safety signals with US Drug Safety.

Requirements

  • Scientific degree from an accredited college or university, such as an M.D., PhD, PharmD, MA, or MPH.
  • At least 5 years of professional medical affairs experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Ability to influence without authority in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Strategic problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate and communicate scientific data effectively.
  • Broad medical expertise, strong scientific and business acumen, and knowledge of pharmaceutical treatments, product labeling, and federal regulations.
  • Strong therapeutic-area literature knowledge, communication skills, and credibility with thought leaders.
