Principal Software Test Engineer - CRDN (Medical Devices)

Location: Mounds View, Minnesota, United States; hybrid schedule with onsite work 4 days per week and less than 10% travel.

Salary: $122,400–$183,600 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Lead the software test team for newly approved therapeutic medical devices.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and suites with Python and Robot Framework.
• Build and execute API, integration, regression, functional, and system-level validation.
• Validate software in Unix/Linux environments and troubleshoot issues with command-line tools and scripting.
• Define test strategies, analyze requirements, create test plans, and ensure coverage across features and releases.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, review test code, track defects, and mentor team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with at least 7 years of engineering or quality experience, or an advanced technical degree with at least 5 years of experience.
• Demonstrated experience in software testing and test automation.
• Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with Robot Framework.
• Experience with API testing, Unix/Linux environments, automation frameworks, and Git.
• Strong systems analysis, debugging, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• U.S. work authorization requirements apply; sponsorship is offered for Principal-level roles and above.

Nice to have

• Agile SAFe training or experience and familiarity with Agile testing quadrants.
• Experience with SDLC tools such as JIRA, Bitbucket, GitLab, and Jenkins.
• Experience with project scoping, cost estimates, and third-party software design partners.
• Concise written communication skills.
