Advanced Cloud Engineer (AWS)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States; at least four full days per week in an hirify.global office

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable, high-performance AWS infrastructure for cloud-native applications.
• Build Infrastructure as Code, reusable modules, cloud patterns, templates, and accelerators using Terraform.
• Implement IAM, encryption, network security controls, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and compliance guardrails.
• Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance, resilience, and cloud costs.
• Administer operating systems and cloud platforms, troubleshoot and patch systems, and automate operational tasks with Python, PowerShell, and Bash.
• Collaborate with developers and platform teams, manage the product backlog, document cloud platforms, and provide technical mentoring.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of infrastructure engineering experience, including a minimum of 2 years with AWS cloud technologies and architecture.
• Hands-on proficiency with Terraform Infrastructure as Code and experience with Bitbucket Pipelines or a similar CI/CD toolchain.
• Proficiency in Python and working knowledge of AWS services including EC2, EKS, ALB/ELB, Security Groups, Firewall Manager, WAF, S3, Lambda, and IAM.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture transformation, Agile and DevOps operating models, automation, and cloud security.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and technical leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies, governance, security, and infrastructure automation.
• Knowledge of Ansible configuration management.
