Sr. Software Development Engineer / Principal, Software Development Engineer (AI)

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada; hybrid work with at least 50% of each quarter spent in the office or in the field

Salary: $168,000–$252,000 CAD annual base salary, plus potential bonus or commission and annual refresh stock grants.

What you will do

• Lead technical design decisions for the AI Model Serving platform, focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Design, implement, and maintain large-scale systems for deploying ML models to production.
• Guide the evolution of hirify.global's production model registry for machine learning teams.
• Scale and troubleshoot continuous integration pipelines and respond to production alerts.
• Collaborate with software engineers, ML engineers, and data scientists across partner teams.
• Review code, document architecture, evaluate technologies, and share engineering knowledge.

Requirements

• Senior level: 6+ years of related software development experience; Principal level: 10+ years.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep experience designing, building, and scaling production-grade distributed systems.
• Deep proficiency in Python and Python-based production frameworks.
• Experience with serving, scaling, and monitoring large language models and traditional ML models in production.
• Strong communication, design documentation, collaboration, mentoring, and consensus-building skills.
