Senior AI Developer (AI)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 123,000–180,400 annual base salary for Canada-based roles; offers may exceed this range depending on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain new and existing platform components.
• Design and implement AI features, reusable modules, APIs, and secure, scalable software architecture.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements, designs, and accurate estimates.
• Review code and technical documentation, mentor developers, and promote software development best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex programming and design issues while improving application scalability, security, and availability.
• Contribute to the technical roadmap, risk mitigation, and technical debt reduction.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional experience building APIs with Python or Node.
• Experience with AI agent tools and frameworks, including building and integrating MCP tools.
• Strong knowledge of REST API standards, Graph and web services.
• Experience converting requirements into designs and building reusable modules.
• Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and problem solving.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience building agentic experiences and AI automation.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock, Strands, and AWS services such as SQS, SNS, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, RDS, and ElastiCache.
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale production systems and distributed asynchronous systems.
• Knowledge of SDLC best practices, Agile/Scrum, continuous integration and delivery, and modern development practices.
