What you will do
- Perform aircraft maintenance in accordance with technical instructions, drawings, and applicable DHS/DOD requirements.
- Troubleshoot aircraft structures, landing gear, flight controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engine, auxiliary power, ventilation, and heating systems.
- Remove, repair, inspect, and install engines, gearboxes, airframe components, and other aircraft parts.
- Conduct preflight, thru-flight, post-flight, progressive, phase, periodic, and other scheduled inspections.
- Complete aircraft servicing, jacking, towing, system checkouts, maintenance records, and quality documentation.
- Provide technical direction to Aircraft Mechanic Helpers and Aircraft Workers while maintaining tool control, cleanliness, and safety standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience, including 2 years working with military standards and specifications.
- Experience may include maintenance on aircraft such as UH-60, AH-64, CH-47, C-130, MC-130J, HC-130, EC-145, LUH-72, UC-35, and V-22.
- Ability to read aircraft instruments, technical manuals, safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure documentation.
- Ability to use special test equipment, tools, gauges, and government technical reference systems.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in cramped or awkward positions, on ladders, platforms, scaffolding, and aircraft structures.
- Must pass drug and background screening and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
