Senior Credit Officer (Commercial Lending)

Location: In office in Charlotte, North Carolina, or Los Angeles, California, US

Salary: $170,000–$280,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonus and/or commissions.

What you will do

• Evaluate, approve, or decline commercial credit requests exceeding local or assigned lending authority.
• Assess creditworthiness, loan quality, risk classification, loan structure, collateral, pricing, and policy compliance.
• Monitor assigned loan portfolios, risk trends, exposures, delinquencies, accrual exceptions, and overdrafts.
• Review criticized and classified credits and approve action plans for resolving troubled loans.
• Participate in Loan Review and Compliance exit reviews and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Support lending officers and help develop relationship managers, credit analysts, and other credit colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Seven years of banking experience.
• 15 years of commercial lending experience.
• 10 years of experience in a credit environment.
• Strong analytical, credit assessment, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of bank credit products, policies, procedures, business practices, ethics, and regulatory requirements.
