Operations Expeditor (Dry-Ice Logistics)

Location: Onsite in Star, Mississippi, United States. The role involves plant-yard operations, loading and unloading, equipment handling, and a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays. The expected schedule is likely four 12-hour shifts per week and may change.

What you will do

• Support and oversee daily distribution and manufacturing yard operations, including vehicle activity, loading and unloading, vendor operations, site security, and facility support.
• Supervise transportation and vendor schedules to maintain safe traffic flow and compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
• Partner with Production on workforce planning, shift coverage, order status, safety metrics, and shipping and receiving flow.
• Track trailers and boxes, verify loading and offloading quality, and maintain asset availability.
• Coordinate vehicle and trailer maintenance and address safety hazards, equipment deficiencies, and facility issues.
• Maintain inspection and compliance documentation, participate in audits, and operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment when required.

Requirements

• High school diploma and at least three years of experience supervising 10 or more production workers in an industrial setting.
• Strong decision-making and communication skills, with the ability to enforce policies and discipline staff fairly and professionally.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
• Organizational skills for personnel files, time tracking, inventory, reporting, budgeting, and cost control.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and email, plus higher-level mathematics skills.
• Ability to work safely in a noisy environment with elevated CO2 vapor, occasionally lift 5–50 pounds, and work flexible shifts, weekends, nights, and holidays.

Nice to have

• Associate's degree.
• Experience operating ice plant machinery such as block presses, saws, pelletizers, and valves.
• Active forklift certification.
