What you will do
- Engineer therapeutic antibody candidates through liability removal, humanization, affinity maturation, and developability optimization.
- Identify and resolve deamidation, oxidation, isomerization, and aggregation hotspots using hands-on laboratory methods.
- Lead affinity maturation campaigns using phage display, yeast display, or other directed-evolution platforms.
- Champion AI-driven antibody optimization by coordinating computational campaigns with external AI/ML CROs and technology vendors.
- Translate computational sequence proposals into wet-lab validation experiments and interpret in vitro outcomes.
- Provide antibody-engineering expertise across discovery, structural biology, CMC, and clinical teams, including IND-enabling activities.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in biochemistry, protein engineering, immunology, biophysics, computational biology, or a closely related discipline is strongly preferred.
- At least 5 years of hands-on antibody-engineering experience in industry or advanced academic research.
- Demonstrated experience advancing antibody candidates through optimization cycles, supported by publications, patents, or program milestones.
- Hands-on expertise in liability engineering, antibody humanization, biophysical characterization, and developability profiling.
- Experience with antibody expression, purification, molecular biology, and methods including DSF/nanoDSF, DLS, SEC, AC-SINS, HIC, viscosity, and solubility or stability assays.
- Mandatory AI/ML experience with structure-based design platforms such as ProteinMPNN, RFdiffusion, ESMFold, AlphaFold, Rosetta/PyRosetta, AbMPNN, or equivalent tools, plus the ability to run workflows and interpret outputs.
Nice to have
- Experience fine-tuning or adapting pre-trained models on antibody-specific datasets.
- Working knowledge of Python or equivalent scripting for data analysis and computational-tool integration.
- Mandarin proficiency.
