Staff AI Engineer (Finance/Compliance)

What you will do

• Design end-to-end agentic solutions and create reusable architecture patterns for agents, tools, and APIs.
• Build AI agents, orchestration services, and enterprise applications for finance and business operations.
• Establish secure, read-only connections to business systems like NetSuite while maintaining strict authentication and audit trails.
• Refactor and rebuild business-developed prototypes into tested, monitored, and supportable enterprise applications.
• Translate Finance, Security, and SOX requirements into technical architecture and automated controls.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or able to work from Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid role).
• 8+ years of experience in software, platform, or solution engineering with hands-on production ownership.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript with experience in distributed-system design and APIs.
• Practical experience building production AI systems using agents, tool use, retrieval, and LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Anthropic, OpenAI).
• Working knowledge of enterprise finance processes and compliance-by-design principles (SOX, segregation of duties).
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with ERP systems and data platforms.
• Hands-on experience implementing SOX controls in a public-company or audit-regulated environment.
• Experience building internal enterprise applications.
