Technician, Facility Services, HVAC-Refrigeration

Location: Derby, Kansas, United States — Walmart Supercenter

Hourly wage: $29.00–$58.00 per hour, with possible premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour and bonus incentives.

Walmart operates local retail stores and maintains facility infrastructure, including commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems.

What you will do

• Maintain and repair supermarket rack refrigeration and HVAC equipment and related facility assets.
• Use hand tools, power tools, digital tools, testing equipment, and other equipment to complete service work.
• Receive repair work orders, support stores and associates, and document completed activities in the work order management system.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls and diagnose issues by inspecting, operating, and testing equipment and fixtures.
• Complete required safety training and follow OSHA, EPA, and Walmart refrigeration and HVAC safety procedures.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, use ladders, and work frequently at heights.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of commercial refrigeration/HVAC maintenance experience, or 4 years of related mechanical maintenance, construction, or HVAC/R experience; a vocational or technical HVAC/R certification may qualify with 2 years of experience.
• Large-scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Required Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC-R or mechanical journeyman license where required.
• Valid state-issued driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice to have

• Completion of a two-year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and standard office software.
